The Haute-Mentue catchment

The Haute-Mentue research catchment is equipped with 6 streamflow gauges, 5 rain gauges and one weather station. The sub-catchment areas range from 0.18 to 12.5 square kilometres.
The catchment is located an half-hour drive north of Lausanne, in a forested region that is geologically characterised by sandstone, marl and quaternary moraine deposits.

In summer 2022, we have equipped the southern sub-catchments Bois-Vuacoz and Essert with numerous sensors in the stream and groundwater to monitor temporary streamflow for the TempAqua project.
